and created Covid-19 Manual
On February 12, 2020, the leader of Beijing Union Medical College Hospital announced the following information at a press conference:
On the first day of the traditional Chinese new year, Beijing Union Medical College Hospital received an urgent notice from the National Health Commission, requesting the establishment of a national anti epidemic medical team to support Hubei Province. The medical team were composed of six hospitals under the management of the National Health Committee. Each hospital needed to send 20 doctors and nurses. Six hospitals include Beijing hospital, Peking Union Medical College Hospital, Peking University Hospital, Peking University People's Hospital, the Third Hospital of Peking University Medical College and China Japan Friendship Hospital. Each hospital needed to send 20 experts and medical staff in the area of severe respiratory infection. Beijing Union Medical College Hospital needed to send an additional vice president as the leader. After the special medical team was assembled on the first day of the traditional Chinese new year, they arrived in Zhongfa Xincheng District, Tongji Hospital, Wuhan city on the second night, and joined the fund mission to be responsible for the treatment of local severe patients.
On February 6, Beijing Union Medical College Hospital received another official notice that the Hospital will undertake the intensive infectious disease ward in the new hospital of Zhongfa Xincheng District. So Beijing Union Medical College Hospital sent the second group of 142 doctors and nurses. Because the ICU to be undertaken needs all-round organ support, the experts in the ICU are not only including breathing and severe infection, but also in the fields of heart, digestion, kidney, endocrine and neurology. They formed a multi-disciplinary team to rescue critical patients. As of December 12, Beijing Union Medical College Hospital had supported 164 medical members in Wuhan city.
